Poem 19 - An Untold Story of Kashmir

My name is Kashmir

I have my own distressed untold story

The story which no one ever bothered to pay attention

The story which doesn't have a book

But hidden in the tears of my people

The story which no one has capability to read & understand

The story which doesn't have a single listener

My name is Kashmir

I bleed but no one is hardly concerned

I am beaten monstrous

I am lost & disorientated

I am alive but dead

I shuffle off this mortal coil every second

I wheeze but not air

I devour but not food

My name is Kashmir

My son was killed blameless

My crucified son is unrecalled

My mother was abused

My father was ill-treated

My fecund soil was extirpated

My flowing rivers were freezed & downturned

My prominence peaks are now combat sectors

My alluring flowers doesn't bloom now

My morning breeze turned to gale

My crooning birds took a flight to restful site

My forests were desolated

My name is Kashmir

I was a land of happiness afore but now full of dejection

I was a heaven erstwhile but now a netherworld
